Mercurial fans might have been getting a little frustrated with the levels of attention the new adidas adizero boots are getting at the moment. But for all the Superfly fans out there, we've got exclusive images of the first new colour-way of 2011 from Nike...
We're aware that images of this new Superfly have been appearing online for a little while now but with all the hype currently surround the adizero's, Nike didn't want these great looking boots to get lost amongst all the adidas attention. And so they shouldn't! The new Windchill/Dark Obsidian/Chlorine Blue Superfly's defiantly deserve to stage to themselves!






So here they are, the newest addition to the Mercurial Superfly range. And here's some information you might not be aware of...these new Superfly boots will be the next boots worn by Cristiano Ronaldo! We've had a tip off from our friends at Nike that Ronaldo could be set to début his new boots when Real Madrid take on Almeria on January 16th.





The new Windchill Nike Mercurial Superfly boots will be the successor to Ronaldo's current Safari Superfly's that he has been wearing since their launch back in October. They are certainly flashy enough for a player who is renowned for his exuberant style on and off the pitch.





From the outside, these new Nike Superfly II football boots look like a clean white/black boot. That is until you see the striking combination of colours on the inside of the boot! The colour-way really is impressive and we think this is visually one of the strongest Superfly II boots Nike have produced. The last white colour-way they released were the White/Black/Pink Superfly I boot's that surprisingly didn't have a huge uptake from professionals. Even so, we predict this new colour-way to be a big hit amongst the pro's!





As you'd expect, there are no tech updates on this boots. For those of you who need reminding of the features Nike have built into the Superfly II football boots, we'll give you a quick run through.





The major innovation for the Nike Superfly II football boots was the development of the Nike Sense adaptive traction technology. Current in the Elite Superfly II football boots, designers created an adaptive stud that can extend and retract by up to 3mm, based on ground conditions and pressure exerted by the player. This new release Superfly continues with the SenseStud design, even though the professional elite seem unconvinced of the studs advantages, preferring to use the Superfly I sole-plate.





The Nike Elite Mercurial Superfly II football boots maintain the desired close fit around the foot without compromising on durability or support. Next-generation Nike Flywire technology incorporated into the boot’s streamlined upper provides the unique lightweight, strong and more dynamic fit.
